How To Use Mangoes For Beautiful Skin

Mangoes are rich in vitamin A and C. This makes the fruit a great antioxidant for your skin and helps fight wrinkles, tanning, sun spot, and many other ailments. They also contain high quantities of collagen which helps in making the skin smooth and taught, thus reducing premature ageing. It has high hydration power and moisturizes the skin, making it soft and supple. No matter what your skin type is, here are two recipes for a mango mask and scrub that are sure to make your skin feel great.

  1. Mango Face Mask

This face mask is great for hydrating your skin and leaving your skin glowing and refreshed. The added ingredients like rose water and honey boost the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of the mask. Use this face mask to rejuvenate your skin and fight the damage done by the sun and pollutants.

Ingredients:

  • Pulp of a medium sized mango, make sure to not touch the skin of the mango as it contains some enzymes which may irritate the skin.
  • 2-3 teaspoons of fuller’s earth, also known as multani mitti
  • 2-3 teaspoons of oatmeal soaked in milk
  • 1 teaspoon of pure rose water

Directions:

Start by mashing the pulp until you have a fine mango faste. To this, add the fuller’s earth and soaked oatmeal. Add one teaspoon of rose water and mix well. You can add more rose water or even milk to reach your desired consistency.

Apply the paste all over your face, keeping away from the eyes, and let it sit for upto 30 minutes. The mixture should be dry by now and you can gently scrub before washing it off with cool water. Follow this by using your favourite moisturizer and see your skin glowing after the very first application.

  1. Mango Face and Body Scrub

A good scrub does two things at once, removes dead skin cells and repairs the skin. This mango scrub does exactly that. The brown sugar acts as a great exfoliant while being gentle on the skin and the added benefits of mango and honey helps rejuvenate the skin.

Ingredients:

  • Pulp of a medium sized ripe mango
  • Half a cup of brown sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoons of raw milk
  • 2-3 teaspoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of pure rose water

Directions:

Start by mashing the pulp until you have a fine mango faste. To this, add the raw milk and honey. Mix until well incorporated before adding half a cup of brown sugar and mixing that in too.

Use this coarse mixture to gently scrub your body. Do not use it on any sensitive areas. Rinse with lukewarm water for the best results. This scrub is sure to leave your skin feeling soft and supple.
