Samsung to launch Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 with Infinite Displays and Android Oreo In India: Price and Specifications

Samsung has come out with two more mid-range smartphones in India. They are the much awaited Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8. Both are to contain an infinite display, Android 8.0 Oreo and 18.5:9 Super AMOLED display with display flowing till the edges. The J8 features dual real camera whereas J6 only has one sensor. Both of these smartphones have the standard Samsung features Face Unlock and Artificial Intelligence features of object and scene detection. The launch in Mumbai also featured the uncovering of Galaxy A6+ and Galaxy A6 who feature infinite display in a metallic body.

Price in India and Launch Offers

The Galaxy J8 will be sold at the price of Rs. 18,990, having only one configuration- 64GB internal storage and only 4GB of RAM. The J6 will be launched in two different variants and with different prices. These are 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage at Rs. 13,990 and 4GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage at Rs. 16,490. All available in the colors of Blue, Black, and Gold.

These smartphones will be available in various stores and sites by May 22 but that is true for Galaxy J6 only. Sales of J8 start latest from June 20. Galaxy J6 will be made available on Paytm Mall, Flipkart and Samsung retail stores with Rs.1500 cashback on Paytm Mall and same on ICICI credit card. The company is also giving a one-time screen replacement only for headsets purchased before June 20.

Specifications of Galaxy J6 and J8

Both these smartphones have dual-sim(nano) with Samsung experience on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. The display is an 18.5: 9 Super AMOLED infinite display. Galaxy J6 has a 5.6-inch HD+ screen and Galaxy J8 has a 6-inch HD+ screen.

The special features of Galaxy J6 are a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel Selfie Shooter. Both cameras are accompanied by an LED flash. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS. It has a non-removable 3000mAH battery.

The special features of Galaxy J8 are two rear view cameras with the 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Both are accompanied by a LED flash. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Both J6 and J8 have Facial Unlock and offer selective selfie flash to set the tone while capturing selfies. An interesting feature of these smartphones is Chat Over Videos, which allows users to chat on Whatsapp while watching videos. This feature was designed by their Indian R&D team and places a translucent chat window and keyboard on top of the video playing.
