LAST MINUTE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND GETAWAYS FROM NEW YORK CITY

Memorial Day Weekend gives the opportunity to wear casual clothes and relax for the whole period of time and also it provides the opportunity to get away from the big cities, as New York, to enjoy the surroundings areas with brand new and relaxing activities.

Once in New York City, one of the first places to visit is the Island of Manhattan, an important component of the city. Close to the city is the location of Oneonta, where a parade also takes place with the participation of the city police and the fire departments, which also includes a collection of classic cars. Another traditional event in the area is the General Clinton Grand Prix Relay where tams of 10 paddlers participate in a 30-mile, five-leg canoe race. A relaxing time can be taken at the Joseph L. A good time is easily obtained at South Salem watching runners at the Annual Memorial Day Races and Fair. The races go from the 10k race to the Pee Wee run and they are meant for all kind of participants from children to adults on Monday morning. Once the races are over, fun is gotten at the fair by listening to live music, enjoying the local arts and craft demonstrations, games for kids and, especially, food like homemade doughnuts at the South Salem vacation rental.
