The work on the adaptation of the Indian epic is to begin after the actor completes his current project Thugs of Hindostan. There is a lot of interesting angles to that have emerged since the news of the movie series began making the rounds.

The series is supposed to be one of the most expensive films to be made. The films will be made along the lines of Hollywood’s Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. The production value of truly rival all other period dramas and this requires a huge budget. According to movie industry tracker Ramesh Bala, the big budget film will be co-produced by one of the richest persons in the world, Mukesh Ambani. It seems very apt that the man behind Reliance Industries will be financing this extravagant affair.

Aamir Khan had previously said, “My dream project is to make the Mahabharata but I’m afraid of starting the project as I know it will consume at least 15-20 years of my life. My favourite character is Karna, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to play him due to my physique. I may just have to play Krishna. I also liked the character of Arjun. He was the only person who asked Krishna why he had to kill his own people.”

No official announcements have been made yet but the speculations have been making the rounds for some time now. In an interview with dnaindia.com, Aamir Khan said, “My dream is to make Mahabharata one day, which I have not yet achieved or I haven’t even moved towards it. It’s too scary as a dream, maybe that’s why. It’s a big dream and so let’s see if I can do it one day.”

We hope that this dream of yours comes true too, Aamir! We honestly cannot wait to see this totally awesome project start taking shape.
