India vs. Bangladesh: Asia Cup 2018 finals

The Asia Cup is an ODI cricket tournament which started from September 15, 2018. All the 5 major countries Asia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka participate in this tournament. This year Hong Kong was selected by its performance in qualifiers, so it also participated along with 5 teams. The Asia cup 2018 is being held at the United Arab Emirates

Initially, all the six teams were divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. Group A comprised of India, Hong Kong, and Pakistan. Group B consisted of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The top 4 teams with the highest point passed the group stage and entered the Super Four stage. The 4 teams were India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The scoring system was the same where each team had to play 3 matches and receive points. At the end of super four, finalists were decided.

The final is between India and Bangladesh and the finals are to be held today, on September 28, 2018, from 5 pm IST.

 

Matches played by India

India’s first match in The Asia Cup was on September 18 and India was facing Hong Kong. Hong Kong chose to bowl first and unfortunately, they lost the match. The next match in the group stage for India was the following day against Pakistan. India won again by 8 wickets. In the Super Four stage, India faced all three other teams in which India won the matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan. But the match between India and Afghanistan ended up as a draw.

Matches played by Bangladesh

The first match of Asia Cup 2018 was between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh won the match by 137 runs. The final match in the group stage for Bangladesh was against Afghanistan. Bangladesh got to bowl first and lost the match against Afghanistan. In the Super Four stage, Bangladesh faced India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Bangladesh lost the match against India but won both the other 2 matches and got qualified to finals
