LAST MINUTE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND GETAWAYS FROM SEATTLE

Spring is getting away and summer is approaching, that yearly fact is reminded by marking in the calendar the arrival of Memorial Day. Established as the beginning of the summer season, several places around the United States offer events and locations to enjoy during this date. One of the locations that give an important weight to this event is the city of Seattle located in the northwest of the country in the state of Washington.

During the celebration of Memorial Day Weekend, there are several events occurring in the city that would be considered as an obligation to attend when visiting the city for that specific date. One of these activities is the Annual Northwest Folklife Festival, a celebration of music and artistic events since 1972. In this festival, it can be found street performers, live events such as music, entertainment or other performances as well, dances, and food stands for the enjoyment of the little members of the family and also for grown-ups.

At the same time, all the family can enjoy the projection of a good film at the Seattle International Film Festival. An annual event celebrated since 1976 gathers together the best films from Classic Hollywood moves to foreign language films to the enjoyment of everyone who happens to stay in the city during the holiday.

Another attractive place in the city is the Seattle Aquarium, a place to see most of the living creatures from the seven oceans and it provides the opportunity of touching one of these animals for children and adults as well.

But the fun cannot be limited just to the city; there are some places not so far away from Seattle that should be included during the Memorial Day trip.  For instance, Hood Canal is one of those places to go, and it is just a two-hour trip if traffic is not very heavy and ferries are easy to take. Camping is an option here, but booking a space in a cabin or in one of the resorts over there is a good idea too. Also, just an hour and a half away from Seattle, is Great Wolf Lodge; a great water park which also offers hotel and spa services that can be enjoyed by the whole family

So Seattle and its surroundings can be planned for the next Memorial Day Weekend trip.
