Random Reboots, Battery Drains: Yet Another Samsung Phone Affected By The Android Oreo Update. Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017

Samsung launched a new smartphone Samsung Galaxy A3 in January 2017. The phone has been crafted with a minimalistic design keeping in mind quality and class. The phones possess High resistance 3D Glass and 4.7” display with a resolution of 720/1280 pixels.

The phone runs on a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and 2GB RAM for smooth functioning. The phone has an inbuilt storage space of 16 GB, and this can be expanded via a micro SD card for up to 256GB. The phone comes with a front facing camera which an 8-megapixel and a rear camera of 3-megapixel.

This phone, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) received the Android Oreo 8.1 update the previous month. The update hasn’t been a success, and reports suggest that people are not enjoying the recent Android update. Apparently, there are cases of users reporting battery drains, random reboots, and UI freezing issues after the update in their Samsung handset. Samsung smartphones Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8 have previously faced issues after Android Oreo updates, but even then has released the update in its other premium smartphones. Samsung has not yet rolled out any fix for the bug.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) users have taken to Samsung’s US online forum to report the issues they are facing in their handsets after the new update. Galaxy Club named Dutch blog has also reported the same issues. It has been brought to light by the user’s comments that the phone has become almost unusable after the new Android update, and they are left with no option other than doing a factory data reset.

The firmware update A320FLXXU2CRE1 has caused the issue in the Samsung phone, reports the Dutch blog, Galaxy Club. The blog also suggests the smartphones users not to install the new update unless Samsung releases a fix for the issue. As for now, there is no clear information from Samsung, as to what the new fixed update will look like. So for now for the users, it is better to steer clear and not update the software if they own a Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017).
