A “Hero” in real life: The stubborn Ayushmann Khurrana

From a 4-year-old child who watched Madhuri Dixit in Tezaab dancing on ek do teen with a dreamy eye, to a standout performer in his latest Andhadhund, Ayushmann Khurrana has come a long way. Today people want to know everything about this ordinary looking guy, from movies to songs, Ayushmann khurrana wife to Ayushmann Khurrana Kids. But, from winning over the second season of roadies in 2004 to debuting in Vicky Donor in 2012, there were lots of ups and down in Khurrana’s personal and professional life. Talking about it lets see his story from the beginning.

Ayushmann KhurranaFamily:

Born in Chandigarh in 1984, none of the Khurrana’s expected that anyone in the family would go in to film industry. Ayushmann’s father P. Khurrana was an Astrologer and mom Anita was a home-maker. Few things about Ayushmann Khurranna which we do not know yet:

  • He was named Nishant Khurrana till his parents changed it to Ayushmann when he was 3 years old.
  • His typical Punajbi family never approved of his acting dream in the beginning.
  • Ayushmann gave inspiration to his brother Apaarshakti Khurrana who was initially recognized as Ayushmann Khurrana brother is working his brother’s way from being a VJ to now acting in films.

Struggle story:

Ayushmann has been vocal about his struggle; he even wrote a book it “Cracking the code”.  His struggle starts way back when he got a slap from his grandmother on expressing the idea of becoming an actor.

  • His first TV debut was 2002 Channel V singing show where he was eliminated in seventh week.
  • He auditioned for numerous TV shows including Balaji Telefilms show Kitni Mast Hai Zinadgi, he was noticed in that audition for Roadies.
  • After winning roadies he got back to finish his graduation.
  • After roadies he became a video jockey for channel V and hosted various shows on TV.
  • He was constantly rejected in the auditions for films and was told his eye brow were too thick or his accent was too Punjabi.
  • When he met Karan Johar, he was given his office’s landline number who directly disconnected the call saying they only work with stars.
  • Ayushmann also auditioned for a small role for I hate luv story (2010) but was rejected.
  • After Vicky Donor there was a string of flops including Nautanki Sala, Bewakoofiyaan and Hawaizada.  

But regardless of all this rejection, his passion for his work led him to keep pushing forward and it finally paid off.

Success reaches those who seek it:

Director Sujit Sircar noticed Khurrana on MTV wassup. He wanted a “face which could translate innocence and honesty” for Vicky Donor and he saw that in Ayushmann and rest is history.

  • Vicky Donor made Khurrana a household name, with effortless acting and golden voice everyone hummed the tunes of Pani da.

  • Khurrana further rose to fame with his songs from his movie Nautanki Sala. Other Ayushmann Khurrana songs include hit singles such as Heeriye and Mitti Di Khushboo among others.
  • Dum Laga ke Haisha (2015), Bareily ki Barfi (2017) and Shudh Mangalam Savdhan (2017) are some of the Ayushmann Khurrana films that claimed his position in the film industry.
  •  Finally, in 2019 came Badhai Ho and Andhdhun which proved Ayushmann Khurrana movies cannot be avoided.

Personal Life:

khurrana’s personal life is no less than a film. He married to the girl with whom he was head over heels since he was in 12th standard.

  • Ayushmann’s wife Tahira Kashyup is his teenage love interest. T November 2008 got these 2 lovebirds together in the bond of marriage.
  • He has a son Virajveer (born January 2012) and a daughter, Varushka (born 2014).
  • Ayushmann has always being a loving partner. He did his best to support Tahira when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • While shooting for both his films (Badhai Ho and Andhadhun) he also managed home and stood by his love.

The film industry is full of actors and actresses but Ayushmann’s story proves him the real “Hero”.
