Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus Price, Camera, Battery, Screen, Features

It was a bleak day when we thought Xiaomi would stop giving us their famous Phablets the Redmi Notes. But, now, we can all rejoice with the announcement of the Redmi Note 5 (at least in India it’s called that way, we westerners know it has Redmi 5 Plus), and finally Xiaomi has made sense of its Phablet lineup and we all thank them for it, and let’s not forget it comes with an awesome 6 inches screen.

The upgrades coming in the Redmi 5 Plus may be pretty obvious, but there are plenty more that aren’t so much. Yes, the Redmi 5 Plus is staying with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip and of course the 4000 mAh battery from the Redmi Note 4, sadly, the 5 MP selfie camera is staying too, but, every cloud has its silver lining, and thankfully the rear camera received a much-needed upgrade, and it kind of evens out with the lacking MPs of the frontal.

The rest of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus specs are a full metal unibody, with a 2.5D frontal glass, a powerful gorilla glass 6 inches, IPS LCD, and 1080p, sadly, comes with Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9, hopefully, they’ll release an upgrade to Oreo, and of course a fingerprint sensor.

In the short life-span, Xaomi has had in the western world, experts and enthusiasts are excited to check each release and as a plus is always entertaining watching the newcomer give those seasoned brands a run for their money, and by the looks of things, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus looks at continuing that tradition.

Inside the box where the Phone comes in, you’ll find a 10W Charger with a Micro-USB cable (Yes, Micro-USB instead of USB-C, but well, everyone hopes this will be Xaomi last device with it), like every other Xaomi before it, comes with a transparent rubber case.

The 18:9 Display a great step forward for the Chinese manufacturer, ever since the announcement it has been praised for it. Sure, there have been some tweaks here and there, and certain aesthetic improvement, but basically this is just an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 4, much like what happened with the OnePlus 5 and 5T.
