Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Vs Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 – Photo Quality, Battery and Gaming Performance

The Android market for mobile phones has seen a drastic surge in the past couple of years with more and more players entering the market with the aim to captivate the target audience and also convert some rival customers. The latest in this race is Asus that has released it’s Zenfone Max Pro M1 Android phone competing with Xiomi’s flagship phone the Redmi series Note 5 Pro. This is the second innings of Asus in the Indian market and looking like their new creation it sure seems companies like Xiomi have something to be worried about.

The distinguishing features of Zenfone include it works on pure Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box solution, it has bezel-less screens and dual rear camera, and 5000mAh capacity battery to make sure this economical phone runs longer than its competitors. Xiomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro came with a global debut of Qualcomm’s latest 14 nm offering which is Snapdragon 636. The octa-core processor with its cutting-edge technology allows better performance and power efficiency.

Both the phone have very competitive features that make each one stand out in the crowd of Android phones available in the market these days, let’s compare the features of these two phones in particular. 

Operating System

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 boasts of using the latest OS of Android 8.1 Oreo, unlike its ZenUI. Asus is also expected to work on major updates when Google launches updates to it i.e. for Zenfone users it is good news as they can expect Android P and Q versions in the near future. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on the out-of-the-box Android 7.1.1 Nougat. 

Material used for the external body

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 has an Aluminium alloy back plate while the edges, buttons and outer frame are made of plastic. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a metal body except for the top and bottom ends that are made of plastic but with a metal finish. Both the phones have a rear mounted fingerprint scanners.

Core Hardware

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is powered by 1.8 GHz Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 636 along with Adreno 509 GPU with storage options of 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 4GB RAM/64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/64GB storage expandable up to 256GB through a micro-SD card slot. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro also comes with similar core hardware features to support with the latest technology.

Screen

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is Asus’s first mainstream bezel-less phone in India that provides greater contrast, 1500:1 as per Asus. With a screen to body ratio of 83 percent it offers 85 percent NTSC colour gamut. Whereas Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro is its first mainstream bezel-less phone for the India market. It has a 5.99 inch FHD plus a display that a resolution of 2160 x 1080p and 403 PPI pixel density. It most certainly looks much smaller than a regular 6 inch phone thanks to its bezel-free model.
