Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Review, Should You Buy?

As more and more people queue up for buying smartphones in India, companies are also struggling to make their brands top the chart. With so many brands fighting for the market, phone companies have to stuff as many features as possible in their phones.

The mid-range phones probably sell the most. The under-20,000 phones are much in demand and most of them come with some decent features. Today we will look at one such phone that has caught the attention of buyers

XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 5 PRO

This phone comes from a company that has been accepted in the market by mobile users. Their earlier models have been a hit in the market, so they start off with an advantage. The Redmi Note 5 Pro has also been well received.

What makes one attracted to it on first look is the sturdy metal unibody design. The phone looks strong and robust.

The display is big at 5.99 inches and is Bezel-less. It offers good viewing at various angles. The display is visible well even under sunlight. Despite the bigger-sized screen the phone overall size has not changed. This makes handling the phone easy.

The 6 GB RAM is certainly a specialty of this phone. It will ensure that gaming is much smoother and without any lag. The 64 GB internal memory is good enough for most of the phone users. However, there is a provision to expand to 128 GB with a micro-SD card.

The cameras on the phone are very good for a phone in this price range. The back camera is dual with 12 MP and 5 MP. The dual cameras take good portrait shots with the bokeh effect.

The front camera has a good 20 MP resolution. There is also a selfie light that helps in low light photography.

Another highlight of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the processor. It comes with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 636. Combined with the storage and RAM this phone is sure to perform better than our expectation.

The battery is another plus in this phone. It comes with a 4000 mAh battery that could easily last around 15 hours with medium usage. The phone does not, however, come with a charger enabling quick charging. But the phone supports quick charging.

The overall performance is good and touch sensitivity is fine. The curved rear gives it a good grip. The Corning glass helps in preventing scratch. The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor and a face unlocking.

THE VERDICT

It is a very good buy at the price. With a good processor and enough RAM and storage, the performance is great. The display is big enough and gives good viewing at all angles. The phone has a powerful battery.

On the negative side, the phone could have been provided with a charger that supports quick charging. The phone still runs on the Android 7 Nougat which is a slight disappointment. For a phone in this range, they could have provided with a USB Type C.

It still is a great phone for the price you pay.
