Xiaomi Company has recently released very impressive devices that have placed them in a very comfortable position among the most important smartphone manufacturers around the world. Despite still struggling to make a deeper mark in western regions, we can say that Xiaomi has fairly gained its position since their last leases have impressed a lot of people. This is why there has been so much expectation regarding their newest launch, the Xiaomi Redmi S2. It has a release date of May, 10 2018. However, the system specifications have been already published.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 dimensions are 160.7 x 77.3 x 8.1 mm. or 6.33 x 3.04 x 0.33 inches and it weighs 170 grams which is the same as 6 oz. and does not make it a heavy smartphone or a very light one. We can fairly say that it is an average weight smartphone. It was built with front glass and aluminum body and has a hybrid dual-SIM slot for Nano-SIM or dual stand-by.
Now, let us talk about its display since it has created great expectation. It has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 16 MP display or 5.99 inches or 92.6 cm2 with a screen-to-body ratio of 74.5% and a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels which is not the best display but it is still pretty good.
It is run on Android 8.1 Oreo and it performs an octa-core processor with a Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset. Its variations are 64 GB storage with 4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage with 3 GB RAM, or 16 GB storage with only 2 GB RAM and the good news is that the storage can be upgraded up to 256 via microSD.
Regarding the cameras, there is a dual primary camera of 12 MP + 5MP and a secondary camera of 16 MP for taking selfies. It has the fingerprint sensor on the rear and it comes with a non-removable 3,080mAh battery.
So, sure it might not be the best in performance but considering that it is a budget phone, it just makes a very impressive smartphone.
